Create your first experiment

An experiment in Netaj is a test that splits incoming visitors between two or more variants of a page or element, then tells you which one converts better.

1. Pick a target

From the dashboard, click New experiment. Choose the page URL you want to test (or a wildcard pattern for a section).

2. Add variants

The Visual Editor lets you click directly on elements to change text, color, or layout — no code. Each variant is automatically applied to a portion of your traffic.

3. Pick a goal

A goal is what success looks like. Common goals: a button click, a page view (e.g. /checkout/complete), or a custom event you fire from your code.

4. Launch

Click Start. Visitors are randomly assigned to a variant, and we track conversions toward your goal. The dashboard updates in real time.

How long should it run?

Until the result is statistically significant — Netaj tells you when. For most sites, that's 1–2 weeks. Don't stop early just because one variant is "winning" — small samples lie.
